Cambridge Regional College (CRC) in partnership with Al-Dar Institute offers a range of short courses to meet the needs of broader policing and security sectors, including elements of fiscal regulation (e.g. customs, taxation, financial regulation) defence, national security. These courses can be offered either in Cambridge in the UK or at Al-Dar Institute in Kuwait.
The 21st century risk environment demands greater levels of cooperation, collaboration, information sharing and mutual learning between the various sectors and the organisations that occupy them.
Terrorists and serious organised criminal groups do not recognise administrative, functional or even national
boundaries and the complexity of their behaviour frequently demands a multi-agency, multi-sector and increasingly
multi-national response.
For this reason, there is scope for significant overlap in responsibility and competences between the various services. While the specific allocation of security responsibilities between the various agencies varies between countries, the following diagramme provides a simple example of how some prominent risks relate to the various policing and security sectors.
